- Tennis Canada has developed a new tournament and high performance
training centre on a prime 15 acre site at York University. This
facility, with a total development budget of $38M will house a
permanent stadium accommodating offices for Tennis Canada and
the Ontario Tennis Association, locker rooms, media facilities,
food services facilities, private sky lounges and Hall of Fame.
The stadium will provide seating for 12,500 patrons with expansion
capability to 14,000. Site development includes an enclosed high
performance training centre and air supported structure and outdoor
courts with associated infrastructure to support the annual tournaments.
- OPM was retained as Project Manager to lead the Project Team
through the fast track development of this unique project ready
for the July 2004 Masters Series Tournament;
- During pre-construction OPM managed the Project Team through
the development of functional programming, design, budgeting and
detailed value analysis, environmental assessment and approvals,
completion of working drawings, processing of site plan approval
and building permit and participation in trade tendering and negotiation;
- The project was completed on schedule and budget. Opening Ceremonies
were held on July 26, 2004.
