  • The Town of Markham received infrastructure funding to develop an outdoor artificial ice pad at its Town Centre site. The ice pad is irregular in shape and is approximately 24,000 ft2 in area. It was designed as the dominate feature in a larger master planned landscaping project. The ice pad is also designed to be utilized as a water feature in the non-winter months to encourage all season use of the Town Centre site by the general public;
  • The ice pad refrigeration system was designed to help minimize the Town Centre’s carbon footprint.  Heat generated from the refrigeration cycle is being recovered and utilized by the Town Centre HVAC system;
  • OPM also managed the preparation of energy audits and operating building system enhancements to maximize energy conservation opportunities in 7 Town owned and occupied buildings.
  • These projects were successfully completed on schedule and budget in compliance with government funding requirements.
