  Granite Club - Phase I of Master Plan - New Addition Project, Toronto, ON

Owner: Granite Club
Architect: Montgomery Sisam Architects
Structural: Halcrow Yolles
Mechanical & Electrical: Crossey Engineering Ltd.

  • OPM was retained by the Granite Club to provide project management services for the development of the Club’s Master Plan expansion project;
  • The total project budget for the 42,000 ft2 project is $40M. Scheduled for occupancy in Fall 2013, the project allows the Granite Club to continue to grow both physically and programmatically to provide its current and future membership with a revitalized and expanded “state of the art” facility. The addition, which is focused on the north elevation of the existing building is comprised of two floors above grade plus multiple underground parking levels. A new garden area and lawn bowling courts will be constructed at the rear of the addition over the new underground parking garage and will have expansive vistas overlooking the ravine to the west of the building;
  • The required scope of the project involves extensive renovation to the existing building and site necessitating a detailed and well executed Work Program to maximize construction productivity and minimize interruption of existing Club operations and the quiet enjoyment of members. Life safety and the creation and maintenance of a safe environment for all who access the work area and as well as those parts of the existing Club that will be directly or indirectly impacted by construction activities will be of paramount importance for the overall success of the project.
